Here’s my best straight leg jeans challenge shot in Madewell, H&M, Topshop and &Other Stories. I wanted one or two pairs of straight leg jeans so I thought I’d film a denim jean comparison video while inside the stores doing a try on.

If you are looking for a pair of straight cut denim jeans or want some ideas on where to buy high waisted jeans or where to buy straight leg jeans then this is your video! I wanted to find the best jeans for spring summer and find the best fitting jeans ever (is that even possible? probably not).

I’m slightly curvy so if you are looking for the best jeans for curvy women I don’t know if this denim challenge will help, but you’ll get an idea of some of the quality out there. Note: Madewell now has jeans for curvy women.

Come with me through down town New York while I try on women’s jeans brands in one day.

Should I make this store try on a series???

Karen Thew says:

Good idea but see if you could take a friend with you with a different body type

Adascos Dreams says:

Hi KBC, really helpful video!! Can you tell us how tall you are and / or your leg length so I can sort of imagine if my legs will be too long for the styles you’ve tried. Thanks ❤️ Bisous xx

Trisha Vo says:

Karen, have you tried the Everlane jeans? I’m interested in what your thoughts are about them!

Ivonne Kleyff says:

I go exactly trough the same situation with jeans , so usually I end up buying something else. But I like your H&M jeans that you usually wear. I also hated the Top Shop jeans. Btw the usually don’t have good jeans for me in Top Shop. Anyways the ones that you end keeping looked fantastic !

Sonia in Colors says:

More like these please 🙂 oh and next time take a friend that has a different body shape to try the same pieces, yeah that would be awesome.

Denise Marie says:

Love this jeans shopping excursion! Jeans are so hard to find! You are lucky because you have a model figure and all these jeans just look amazing on you!

Hi Karen! Love your videos. Unfortunately the jeans from Other are sold out online 🙁 Do you know where are the girl’ shoes from?

Pamela Coughlan says:

I love JCrew Boyfriend jeans .. it has a little stretch in it .. I have have them in white ones and blue ones .. haha yes, more than one pair each colour …

Delphi333 says:

Great video! I love the first track you’re playing on this one too!

Susan Fowler says:

Great video, but I have to disagree about the stretch. At my age (& weight) not having stretch would find me at the end of the day in a corner, curled into a fetal position and cursing the denim gods. Otherwise I agree wholeheartedly about the straight leg style. Thanks to you I’ve discovered Mango & have picked up a couple of pairs there – with stretch, of course. 🙂

Max W says:

I am so bored with distressed jeans. To sell you clothes that are already knackered is the clothing industry’s biggest joke

Famkeeva says:

You should try out Weekday denim! I am not sure if they sell it in the US, but their price point is great, similar to Topshop. Their jeans are usually made from 100% organic cotton and after washing they don’t feel like cardboard (like I find happens with h&m jeans etc.) A lovely video as always 😀 <3

Cela Whitney says:

i loved the jeans you bought! i had a pair that fit that way back in the mid-seventies and i loved them to death. i like watching you shop because you are so picky about what looks good on you. i was the same back when i was your age. sadly, clothing makers don’t care about women my age looking good, except for chico’s.

Arabella Magnolia says:

Oh yes….make this a series

Jacquelyn says:

Can you tell us your measurements and what sizes fit you? (especially for me the madewell jeans).

Cheryl Donohoe says:

Category : White T shirts: good quality, keep their shape, different necklines, longline, cropped the parameters are endless but the T Shirt is an absolute wardrobe staple,

Lisa Marie says:

Levi – Signature Series – Modern – in all the cuts = I have Boot Cut & the Cropped – I love mine! my go to pair – Yes they have stretch, but they a so freakin comfortable – priced at $20 – crazy – give em’ a look see.

Sasha Grey says:

Great idea!! Would love a series of hunting and trying on a certain item!! I’ve been looking for a crop palazzo pant in cream!!!!!

blktauna says:

Those Mango sllides are gorg. I also hate stretch in jeans. They never fit or feel right. Unlike you I need more medium rise and slighly slimmer, but I wear men’s not womens. Women’s jeans rarely fit me at all (old Navy isthe exception)

Rena Smith says:

I like Liz Clairborne jeans sold at JC Penny! Not sure if NYC even has a JCP anymore and they r not $90.00.

Tonya & Sean says:

Hi Karen. I love the idea of a series!!!! I also loved your review of the various jeans. Tonya

Maria Smith says:

Have you looked at Asos for jeans? They have a massive range – think its the Asos Florence that is straight leg. Not sure about the stretch factor though…..great to do a series x

Christina A says:

Love this type of video! Absolutely do more please xoxo

Nancy Fleming says:

I dunno what my problem is, Karen… I’m a 66y/o chickie and recently lost 30 lbs. I am now a size 6 in most clothes (but I took a page out of your book and I buy whatever size gives me a nice drape!), but if jeans fit me at the waist and high hips, the thigh areas are ridiculously baggy. YYEEEESSHH!!! Doesn’t matter what brand, or really, what style! I never thought I had chicken legs. Good thing I have an excellent seamstress. Still, quite annoying…

Nancy Fleming says:

Have you tried the Everlane Cheeky straight leg jeans? Supposed to. Be good

Carla Montevaldo says:

Yes ! Make this a series please

Nancy Fleming says:

Yes!! Make this a continuing series! It was s fun, and I learned a lot.

Gal Taragano says:

great video!! these are my fav jeans fit, you should try the topshop ‘Orson’ I think you’ll love them!

Nancy Fleming says:

Those Madewell high waisted jeans….. I’d kill to have my jeans look like that on me!!!! At 7:45
